How the KML IntelleMAIL Filtering Process Works:

Messages sent from the Internet to the company will first be routed to the intelleMAILSM content filter servers where they will be passively scanned.

Blacklist Check
The server sending the email is checked against a continually updated list of known email Spam senders, and all matches are rejected.

Virus Scanning
intelleMAIL checks for viruses. If a virus is detected, the email is quarantined, Quarantined emails can be retrieved online if desired.

Spam Check
intelleMAIL uses a proprietary combination of proven methods to "rate" each email for the likelihood that it is Spam. Known Spam words, phrases, fonts and use of repetition are noted and scored. This total is compared to known Internet Spam email scores, also adding to the score if there is a match. An assessment filter deciphers the Spam characteristics and contributes to the score. Emails with "scores" exceeding the limit set by the user are quarantined before it ever hits your server, thus saving you precious bandwidth.
